FAQ
-
If I want to help, do I need to take a test?
Absolutely not. Tests never made sense to me if you are an established artist. Just send me a link to your past work or a portfolio and that's proof enough for me.
-
Do I need to be part of the animation guild?
Not necessarily. But since this idea is to function as both a studio and a fund for out of work guild members, they will be given priority on any positions that they want.
-
How much money will I actually make?
I wish I knew. Since this is a completely crowdfunded studio, the funds we may receive will vary wildly. What I can say is that, 1% will go toward helping climate change, and 15% will go to taxes. But the rest is just for us!
-
Can I share what I make with Lifeline publicly?
Yes! I know NDAs are for protecting a studios IP but part of the point of this studio is to give artists something for their portfolios so they can get a better job.
-
What if a LLA pilot gets optioned?
In that exciting scenario, anyone who helped make it will get an even slice of the payout! Beyond that, I will do all I can to make sure anyone who helped make the show keeps working on the show.
-
Does my art belong to Life Lines?
No, your art belongs to you. I want you to be able to use it to promote yourself without worrying about a lawsuit. You will always be credited for your work, especially if we pitch a show to a network.
-
When Can I expect these shows to be released?
Again, I wish I knew. Art takes time, animation takes a LOT of time. The more donations and people we have, the faster we can produce things.
-
I want to donate, what will my money be used for?
The short answer is: your money will be used to support artists in need. Do they need to pay bills? Do they need a little treat to get through the day? I don't know, but I want them to be supported.
